Apatite is a general term for any one of a series of phosphate minerals. Its name is derived from the Greek apate, meaning "deceit" and refers to its similarity to crystals of other minerals such as Aquamarine, Amethyst, and Olivine. Some of the localities that it comes from are Brazil, Mexico, Namibia, Canada, and Russia. Although gemmy crystals are used in jewelry, it is a fairly soft stone with a rating of 5 on the Mohs scale. It's chemical composition is Ca5(PO4)3(F,OH,Cl)
Metaphysical:
Melody attributes Apatite with stimulating the intellect, while dissolving aloofness and negativity. Apatite is attuned to healing, communicating, balancing energy and teaching. It helps eliminate congestion of the Chakras. She also states that "Apatite enhances creativity.
